A chain beam saw is a type of circular saw, with a sharp blade strung on an endless loop. The chain goes around two wheels holding the blade at the correct tension for cutting, and there is no need for a table or other mechanism to hold down an object to be cut.
It can cut something over six feet across, and it doesn’t need any power source except human muscles.
It works by moving one handle up and down while you use your body weight to turn in a circle. It’s very simple, but it also has some quirks that make getting started difficult: if you don’t keep careful control of your speed, even going in circles fast enough to cause whiplash can produce only a series of grooves rather than a cut.
23. Alligator Saw
Alligator saw is a valuable tool in surface pattern design. It can be made by cutting different sizes of parallelogram mesh with straight edges into strips, then cutting crosswise to create saw-tooth patterns.

The cutting action of this type of saw is physical rather than chemical, so the materials being cut are not destroyed as with heat and reaction with oxygen from the air (as in flames). Instead, tiny particles are detached by the mechanical action of the rapidly moving abrasive.
They gradually erode and break off fragments from both the part being cut and from adjacent surfaces. As a result, while cutting may be slower than other methods where heat buildup causes the material to melt, there is significantly less energy released in the process.

The term “cold saw” is actually a misnomer because the device often gets extremely hot during use. However, this heat does not affect the quality of the cut since it’s coming from.
27. Domino Joiner
